In this module, you will learn about our founder’s story and why we believe the trash industry is one of the sexiest industries. Module 2: Residential Waste Management

In this module, you’ll learn the ins and outs of residential waste management. This module will provide you with the knowledge you need to understand the different types of waste markets, the different types of residential waste services, how you can bring value to residential waste customers, what our first big success in residential waste was, how to read a waste hauler invoice, what our PIN Waste program is, and how our Pin Waste platform works.

  • Lesson 2.1 The Franchise Market In Lesson 1, you will be introduced to the different types of markets that exist in the waste industry. You are going to learn about franchise waste markets; how they affect residential waste programs, and why municipalities prefer to enter into a franchise agreement with a waste hauler.
  • Lesson 2.2 The Open Market In Lesson 2 we will explore the Open Market. We will discuss the pros and cons of the open market, why a municipality may choose to have both markets present in its city, and the complexities that come with an open market structure.
  • Lesson 2.3 Types of Residential Waste Service It’s time to take a deep dive into the residential waste market. You will be learning about the three different types of residential waste services that can be provided to these customers. We will also cover the different waste streams residential customers have, and how we have been able to build a successful business by working with homeowner’s associations, property managers, apartment owners, and residents by helping them solve the many problems these customers face.
  • Lesson 2.4 Bringing Value to our Residential Waste Customers In the previous lesson, we outlined the different services we provide our residential waste customers. In this lesson, we will take a closer look at each of these services and provide more details about them. You will also learn about our Expert Formula for Success!   • Lesson 2.5 Our First Big Success In Module 2, Lesson 5, we are going to share with you the story of our first big success. There are numerous different ways for you to make money in the waste industry, with each property presenting a new problem, there will be unlimited opportunities for you to learn, and find new ways to make money while providing your customers with great service
  • Lesson 2.6 How to Read an Invoice: Part 1, The Basics Before you can start implementing programs and making money, you need to understand how to thoroughly read an invoice from the waste hauler. In order to create the most efficient and cost-effective program for your client, you will need to be able to identify service billing errors and identify inefficiencies in your customer’s current program.
  • Lesson 2.7 How to Read an Invoice, Part 2: What to look for and why a fair price is important on all sides You might think you know how to read a simple waste hauler invoice, but you can’t just give the invoice a once-over. As you dig into the details, you may unearth a lot of junk fees or billing errors. Once you can identify junk fees, and eliminate them is when you are going to really start saving your client on extra charges and begin to make money. And remember, a great price, is a fair price!
  • Lesson 2.8 PIN Waste - Power in Numbers Pin Waste is the most successful residential waste model that we created! PIN means, Power in Numbers. In this lesson, you will learn how we have successfully saved hundreds of communities hundreds of thousands of dollars by grouping their waste programs onto one invoice while adding additional waste diversion services, and providing the best customer service experience.

In our last module, you learned about residential waste. It’s now time to pivot, as we teach you the ins and outs of commercial waste management. Hey, I’m Josh

Growing up in a family of contractors, I saw first hand how hard my grandpa, dad and uncle worked running their own construction business. I always admired their hard work and dedication and the successes they achieved. After college, I thought I wanted to join the family construction business. However, it didn’t take long for me to realize that construction just wasn’t the business for me.

 

I moved on to a sales job, where I learned a lot, but that entrepreneurial dream was still in me. I was really interested and immediately saw the vision of how I could bring the sales skills I had developed in my job as well as the relationships I had built together to help launch this new business venture.
